Dr Julia Lachowicz
MBBS FRACP
Respiratory & Sleep Physician
Hi, Iām Dr Julia Lachowicz, a consultant respiratory and sleep physician with a passion for providing exceptional care to my patients.
I completed my medical training at the University of Tasmania, where I graduated as dux of my class. Following medical school, I pursued advanced training in respiratory and sleep medicine at prestigious institutions such as the Royal Hobart Hospital, Alfred Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital. These experiences enriched my knowledge and honed my skills in diagnosing and managing complex respiratory and sleep disorders. I maintain clinical interest and expertise across the breadth of general respiratory and sleep medicine, with special interest in pulmonary fibrosis, breathlessness, sleep apnoea and chronic disease management.
I am proud to maintain an affiliation with the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where I continue to contribute to the advancement of respiratory and sleep medicine through clinical practice and research. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at the University of Melbourne in interstitial lung disease (pulmonary fibrosis), focusing specifically on novel diagnostic techniques. This research allows me to delve deeper into understanding the mechanisms of this challenging condition and exploring innovative approaches to improve patient outcomes.
As a physician, I am deeply committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and personalised care to each individual I have the privilege of treating. I believe in empowering my patients with knowledge and support to make informed decisions about their health.
Outside of my clinical and research endeavours, I am dedicated to medical education, mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals, and advocating for respiratory and sleep health in the community.
I am proud to be a part of your healthcare journey, and look forward to partnering with you to achieve optimal respiratory health and sleep quality.
